Really nailed it. The next few months has the potential of being brutal.
The phrase “dead man walking”, or in this case, woman, only begins to describe the damage. You wonder what the impact is on the players, knowing she will be gone, wondering who the next coach will be. Maybe, as has been suggested by others here, many of the key players are happy about that prospect, idk.
Not sure if it was you or someone else that suggested it, but if we think Harper is likely the best coach we are going to be able to get (assuming she wants another shot, and a significant challenge at coaching in the SEC again), it makes all the sense in the world to fire Pingeton and her staff now and being Harper in. Would give her a leg up on getting to know the players (and vice versa), and working hard on recruiting, when it really matters.
