When UT and OU were out flexing, destabilizing the Big 12, he understood that would continue. The move to the SEC wasn't about football. It was about a safe spot should the shuffle happen again. And it did, several more times. The Pac 12 is now what the Big 12 almost was - a pathetic shell. Being a stable, rational conference, was far more important than anything else.
