that Mr. Card had a right to own all of his weapons and no one had a right to infringe upon those rights, including family, mental health professionals or anyone else, unless he first was infringing on their rights... and even then, they only had a right to defend themselves and respond in a proportionate way.
For instance, if he shoved someone, their rights of self-defense would not include a right to break into his home and take all of his weapons.
It is also true that making threats against someone is not harming them correct?
eg. Saying "I'm so mad, I feel like I could shoot up the school down the road." even in conjunction with "I'm hearing voices." would not give anyone a right to forcibly take his weapons or break into his home to do so, or forcibly commit him into some mental institution where he is forcibly kept. Correct?
