You were asked a simple question. Let me rephrase it for you.

If ashtray was running the world, what should have been done in Card's situation?

He was clearly exhibiting mental health problems and was deemed a high risk to go on a murderous spree by his family, friends and others around him, including mental health authorities. He had access to a significant number of firearms, and had the knowledge and ability to use them.

Should anyone have done anything else to prevent the tragedy that happened BEFORE he went on a murderous rampage?

Or should people have just been armed and ready to kill him when they first recognized that he had killed people or was about to do so?
