$2.65 in Smithville as well. If I drive 10 miles south in to KC it's $2.95...do they refine their own gas in the Trimble/Smithville area? I suspect they don't. Gas has been considerably cheaper in Smithville since this summer.

I've always felt it's a myth that convenience stores make pennies on the dollar regarding gas. Perhaps that's the way it used to be but it's no longer that way.

I've read where based on the cost of a barrel of oil gas should be around $2.50 a gallon. Bet they're making 10 to 15 cents a gallon even at $2.65 in Smithville and around 40-45 cents a gallon in KC. Profit margins on gas might have been 1 or 2% at sometime but no way that's the case anymore, it's more like 12% and they'd do a ****load of volume at 12%.

Wish I could buy a QT.
