the SEC got serious about it. It should have been reasonably difficult for MU to not consistently be among the top programs in the SEC, but we pulled it off. And now that window of opportunity is entirely closed.

Even the path back to the middle of the conference at this point is monumental. It could be done with the right coach and about 4 or 5 years of everything breaking in his/her favor. I'll be watching for it to hopefully happen, but its extremely unlikely.
