two positions matter for this coach so having talent and a focal point on those spots is misallocated. I know you are going to launch into some thing about how Dru Smith was actually a pg or that Tilmon progressed considerably, but that isn't really an interesting conversation to regurgitate. The fact is that most games we had no idea if we could get dependable production from Tilmon or Pinson and neither had any idea what was expected of them to deliver game to game.
The point being I'm open to the possibility that Cuonzo appears to be a crap coach because he had a roster that only had strengths at his areas of weakness. We should know reasonably early on this season if that is a true hypothesis, and that his struggles were due to roster construction and not necessarily derived from coaching ineptness. If you are looking for reasons of potential optimism, that is it.
