the military. He asked about how something that is a part of your job could be deemed a sacrifice. I provided a general example of sacrifice that is tied to any number of situations, many where "the greater good" does not tie into any of the things you so dislike in the one use. This is common here when people take any reference to a broad issue and tie it directly and very specifically to the thing that is their "bone of contention."
