I claimed that in elections today, you have a choice between two candidates/parties. That is the reality. In nearly everything you mentioned above, I would contend the position at the time of one side was significantly worse than that of the other. What good is contending for the perfect if in the moment you are not even interesting in contending for the better (or less worse?) That seems like a purely empty and academic pursuit. And if your position is that both sides are equally bad because neither is perfect, that again smacks to me of being a pseudo-intellectual, empty argument.
