The NCAA said in its memo a few days ago that seating capacity for the tournament has not yet been determined. They will set it, not each regional site, is how I understand that.
There are a bunch of things a regional site has to provide in terms of lodging, testing capacity, etc.
For example, there must be a single testing site for all 4 teams, minimum 2,500 square feet, accessed 24 hrs a day.
I think Mizzou will be able to put in a successful bid. How many tickets Will be allowed is yet to be determined, but I expect it will be way more than the current 20%, especially if the country continues getting 3-4 million shots a day into people’s arms. Whether the NCAA will establish a specific seating capacity standard at all 16 preselected regional sites is not clear to me, or if they will set different % standards at different sites that take into account Covid cases at each location. I suspect the former.
