But Pence was definitely doomed. And Holcomb is probably the reason that Mike Braun was elected to the Senate. Without conservatives showing up to vote for Holcomb (there was huge momentum for conservatives to stay home, rather than vote for a democratic governor), Braun would have likely lost to Joe Donnelly.
