make. Do I continue to behave in a manner that is acceptable to my immediate peer group; were my pants below my knees, use the word "nigga" the seemingly minimal 100 times daily, use school as detention halls, refuse to learn proper grammar, refuse to enunciate to a level that can be understood by those outside your peer group...
Or, do I risk being made fun of by paying attention to the world that exists outside my own immediate desires, engage with strangers who may not be black, look them in the eye, ask them questions, ask them for help, read a book, converse in a compelling manner, WORK HARD at something, anything besides athletics. Try speaking the language of "Professional American" (which is NOT being a Tom)... If you don't start with some of these things, you cannot be helped. There is NO program devised by some professorial ****lib that is going to make your life better; that can only happen through self-direction, not a check from the govt. Without discipline, purpose, and goals, you will NOT retain any level of wealth that comes your way, and your life will NOT be improved by a few new material items that you chose with a reparations check or some similar political gimmick.
