by Helzberg and Bloch money and more importantly had great parent support.

Sumner is not a charter it is a KCK school that pulls students from throughout the district and has admittance and retention requirements, much like Lincoln Prep on the Missouri side.

The key to each of those schools is very high standards and involved parents who expect their children to succeed.
