a charter school and the year after it went back to being a regular high school. The differences were stark. I'm generally in favor of the charter school model if it admissions can be done in some other way than just a lottery, and if the charter schools stay in the public domain. Ridgeway Elementary in Columbia is a good example, as is University Academy in KC and Sumner in KCK.
