How many would have succeeded, 1 or 2 coaches? Odom never had really had good recruting classes on the field. He inherited Pinkel's poorish drop off classes. Those are facts, look on 247Sports. The one class that was OK overall was Lock & Beckner Jr 2015 class. But even that team score was somewhat of a smokescreen because look at the #3, #4 and #5 player right underneath those two.
Odom started by needing to dig his way out & get some momentum. His 2016 & 2017 classes were like Pinkel's. But then he started getting traction wins in just his second year, despite the recruiting.
2018 recruiting was an improvement if you're looking for it. 2019 class was good. 2020 recruits weren't put off by team's (Kelly Bryant) 2nd half of season tail spin. It would have maybe even exceeded the 2019 class.
The momentum was there and his 2018, 2019 players would then start making their way onto the field. I was really looking forward to that.
