The virus shutting down on-campus visits has accentuated the desire of recruit families to have their sons stay closer to home. The new South End zone facilities have been an amazing video experience and recruiting tool Barry didn't have. Illinois football has faded as a serious competitor in STL. Time has passed since the campus unrest and seems a distant memory. I felt Barry's failings were more in team preparation, player development and game day planning. His recruiting was ok; never lacked effort. He did target Texas recruiting at the expense of Missouri kids. Could hardly fault him given our track record and the talent down there.
