but they're not really point guards. They're scoring guards. That's just how the game has changed.

Part of the reason there's not a lot of good post play now is because there's not a lot of actual point guards who can pass the ball correctly. Another reason is big guys don't perfect post moves any more. They're standing at the three point line.

There's not a lot of precision offense with screens, cuts and on time passes to the right spot. Today it's one on one and kick outs. If you don't have some guys who can create something on their own you're going to struggle. It's just how the game is.
