harmony with reason and the evidence at hand.

I would also say that an atheist is also basing his views on faith, but with assumptions that are not as consonant with the available facts and reason.

One cannot put God under a microscope, or check Him out with a telescope, of course. The supernatural surpasses the natural.

But the atheist cannot explain how things came to be without a creator and must take a leap of faith to come to their conclusions... without any real, observable explanations for them.
