Very conservative estimates are that it will cost $4T per year. That doubles our current national expenditures (and we cannot fund those). The only thing that has been floated is a wealth tax that will, at its very best, raise 1/10th of that amount annually. Also, Europe has shown these wealth taxes do not work. Of the eight countries who have tried it, I believe 5 or 6 have already repealed them.
They have spoken of some savings since you are not paying premiums. But that will come nowhere near the remaining $3.6T necessary annually to pay for this. When will we have plans from these candidates? Isn't it irresponsible to float such a thing with no clue of how it pay for it?
