sports and even professional (especially NBA and MLB), all of these seasons are too long but they're also all about dollars. I don't think it's a mentality that's specific to college football. Given that it is what it is, I wouldn't mind an 11 game regular season with an 8 team playoff. Otherwise I'd rather they blow everything up and make a bunch of 10 team conferences with round robin play, no conference championship games, and single bowl games for teams. I don't remember who won the National Championship two years ago without looking it up.
