You’re right about the perception, that’s the majority of it. When I would think selling drugs wouldn’t be too much different than selling anything else theoretically. Ascertain market, set price, identify targets, manage supply etc.
People forget that the ultimate goal of drug dealers is to make a living. It’s means to an end. I’m not condoning it, but there’s a reason poor people sell drugs. It’s not that they want to destroy a community etc, it’s to get money. If there isn’t any opportunity to make money legally, they will do it illegally.
Anyone who has been in a serious, potentially life altering bind can completely understand why someone would sell drugs. Then it’s a downward spiral once you get in.
Big Pharmaceutical companies are drug dealers, only difference is the government hasn’t decided to criminalize the drugs they sell..
