On June 24, 2019 I mailed my local fertilizer dealer a fairly large check. The office manager called me and advised me that they had never received payment for one invoice, though I had paid all due before and after that bill. I told her I would stop payment on that check and bring her another one. After confirming with the bank that the check had not been cashed they stopped payment on it, which cost me a $20 fee.
On August 21 the manager called me and said that my check had finally arrived. She said that the letter was postmarked June 24 in Kansas City (I'm told all local mail has to travel through KC for sorting and routing, even though the fertilizer plant was only five miles from my home.) The letter was stamped "Missent to Malaysia". How could Savannah, Missouri be confused with Malaysia?
