First Round picks are guaranteed 3 year contracts. A Rookie can negotiate for as much as 120% and no less than 80% of the Slotted Scale.

Falling out of the middle of the Top 5 to the late Top 10 is not small deal IMO -- and falling to 15 or so is real money. This is exaggerated if Porter Jr., with his back injury, lacks negotiating power and finds himself more near the 80% of his slotted amount.

MPJr has until May 30 to withdraw and retain eligibility to come back and improve his draft stock. Given he is still well below 100% in explosion, natural reaction, strength, there will be a LOT of focus on the NBA combine, just 60 some days away.
