What I would love to see, from our Journalism school

is a response to the conclusions in this article, framed by comments from AA students, including athletes, who have actually attended the school. Framing the school's issues with Ferguson events or those tied to the St. Louis Police shootings is wholly inappropriate IMO. If that were the case, why wouldn't DePaul, Illinois, and, even, Northwestern carry some of the burden of what transpires nightly in Chicago? Or, the schools in Baltimore for those events.
There is this easy and unchallenged hypothesis that writers have to use as a 'basis' for any story about our region, its cities, its universities etc. that seems to assign responsibility for local, racial strife to those targets and minimize or eliminate any assignment of responsibility to the people who actually created the incidents cited.
