You're right. Last year the AD contributed something like 8 million dollars to the general fund to keep the University from having to cut more than the hundreds of jobs that have already been cut.

Cuonzo got 3 mil per year. Odom is making 2.35. At his highest salary, Gary Pinkel was paid just over 4 million per year and he still ranked 10th out of 14 SEC coaches.

Again, I don't disagree with paying out the wazoo to get a good coach. We've never done that though and financially aren't in a position to do so now.

Do I think we can do better than Barry Odom? It's looking like we can. But we won't be able to get a big name, we can't afford to. It will be trying coaches we can afford until we can find one who works and then hoping like hell we can keep him.

Not a great scenario for long term success.
