But Odom helmed the best defense I have ever seen at Mizzou. We did not win a lot of games that year, and we can say Kul was the straw that stirred the drink, but Odom was the D.C. In a year that our qb was suspended and dismissed during the season, and the team thought it was a good idea to threaten a boycott, Odom , game after game until the Arky debacle helmed a ferocious defense. This is why I thought it was a good idea. Also, the fact that our University and athletic department was tainted in the eyes of coaching candidates. Mack Rhodes was probably a bumbling idiot in the search, and he had the stench on him from the boycott threat, but it didn't seem that there was much interest from experienced head coaches.
