I think it's the eight conference championships and 32 years

of coaching. In those 32 years he turned around a program, finishing 1st 8 times, 2nd 7 times and 3rd 5 times, for 20/32 in the top three. It's no Bill Self run, but add to that 24 points a game as a player 1956, a baseball championship and a whole dump truck load of one-liners, and you have a guy worthy of a statue. I hope his is not the last statue to be built, but the first.
