I guess there will always be conspiracy theorists. UW had spent the last 5 seasons at or below .500, and no higher than 6th in conference play. Hard to believe Romar would be fired with that trend. Porter is a Mizzou kid who comes from a Mizzou family who wanted to play for Mizzou but not while Anderson was coach. He went to Washington to play for his Godfather, not just some coach or for UW. When Romar was fired, Sr and Jr. had no allegiance to the school and saw an opportunity to come home with a new head coach. It's called being in the right place at the right time. Happens folks and finally it happened in our favor.
