from? You would think that if Romar was fired, the news would have been broken rather quickly as there was no reason to hold off on releasing it.

According to those tweets, Romar wasn't told about his firing until the afternoon of the 15th. I think it's entirely possible they saw the writing on the wall and were proactive in finding a new job but the timeline doesn't appear to fit them knowing Romar was fired and then started looking for a new job. It appears as if he started looking for a new job while Romar's future was still uncertain.
