what was best for his family. I think he wanted to provide security for himself and his family for the longterm and he knew that MPjr was his biggest bargaining chip to getting a job somewhere else. If he stuck it out with Romar for another year, he would likely be on the unemployment line along with Lorenzo. He made the choice that was best for his family but bad for his friend and it cost Romar his job. The timing of everything seems to lineup for this. The morning that Cuonzo to Mizzou was announced, Gabe had a story about Porter Jr. possibly coming back to Mizzou. Cuonzo was announced in the afternoon and Romar was fired that evening. There have been tweets from journalists saying Porter Sr. leaving caused Romar to lose his job and from insiders on this board that corroborate it.
