that didn't translate to the D1 level. At the D2 level he was recruiting the best talent like UK. But at the D1 level he was recruiting at a mid-major level and was not a good enough X's & O's coach to overcome his lack of recruiting ability. I remember 3 years ago arguing on the board about whether the skills would translate to the D1 level. Some people thought they would. Unfortunately, they did not.
