The bottom line: student athletes are treated differently

The NCAA and college athletic establishment talk about student athletes. What that means is the kids are treated as students when it works to the advantage of the college athletic establishment and as athletes when that works to the college athletic establishment.

When a regular student wants to change schools, he or she can do so without being restricted as to what he or she can do at his or her new school. That is not true for scholarship athletes.

And the NCAA and college athletic establishment wonder what some refer to the their "plantation mentality".
