for their input. All they had to say was TORT REFORM. That was about it. TORT REFORM is a trojan horse to defang Democrats.
They had a meeting. Meeting was at a table. It was broadcast on television. GOP refused to play.
One of Obama's mistakes in his first year or so was assuming that the govt reps WOULD be willing to work together to benefit the nation, to address pressing issues. He looked again and again and again to come together and compromise.
MEAN WHILE McConnell et al publicly stated that JOB ONE was to deny Obama a second term and swore that the GOP would do NOTHING that might make him look good. As HC Reform was his first priority, the GOP worked to shut it down as best they could.
One key point to this reform effort is the establishment of State Exchanges and state expanding Medicare programs. GOP governors across the country collaborated in NOT PARTICIPATING. So the reform has struggled ever since. And they people playing a key role in bring on that struggle point the finger at Obama.
And NOW Don is asking everyone to play nice?
