The design of the Founding Fathers" has worked very well for two plus centuries. Why is this never an issue until the dems are unsuccessful. The current system does provide for the popular vote not corresponding to the electoral vote. Please keep in mind that the President of the United Sates is not elected by we the people. The Electors perform this task on December 18 (I believe). Fortunately, virtually all of the Electors are placed by the vote of we the people.
