It is obvious that Fuller's recruitment got the attention of the NCAA. Gant was held out of the first 9 games by the NCAA and Fuller wasn't allowed to recruit off campus if at all. That was the beginning of the end for Fuller. The trust KA initially placed in Fuller who recommended signing Isabell and Allen ( they needed bodies) evaporated after the NCAA came around. Parting ways with Fuller certainly played a part in JW III deciding to transfer.
Punter certainly would have made the team better. Maybe Haith could have brought in someone else who could have helped versus Shamburger who did a nice job but didn't take care of business in the classroom. We will never know.
