star ratings, we've had 4 coaches.
Now, it is true that only one of them displayed an ability to consistently land 4* kids, and he couldn't get them coached up. But to say that we can't do it is silly. Mike was a very mediocre recruiter. Not bad, but very average. He did not get many 4* kids. Frank was a better HS recruiter than Mike on paper, but was an over rated recruiter. Looking back at his time at Miami, it is interesting to see how many of his highly rated players didn't turn into high quality players. Was he that bad of a coach (yes) or was he only able to get the 4* kids that real coaches knew were mis-rated (probably)? Even horrible Kim Anderson is going to average a 4* high school kid per year.
There is NO reason that any decent coach at MU can't land 1-2 4* kids per year. Then, once the program is up and running, you've got 5-8 4* kids on your team at any given time and you're really good if you coach them at all.
