We could get 9 non-con wins without beating a major conference team. Then getting to 15 or 16 wins is still 2 or 3 games under .500 in conference. At that point the fan support will be gone and the new AD will have to make a move just to sell some tickets next year. With 16 wins you still are probably a bubble team in year 4 as well.
