Haith inherited a situation with nearly complete turnover, only 1 player returned to play a single minute from the prior year in his second season. So he 'declined' from a 30 win, #2 seed, Big 12 championship team to a 23 win, NCAA tourney team, that got 5th in the SEC. That is a pretty reasonable decline given the turnover, particularly considering a preseason All American never got to suit up that season and a mid-season Naismith watch list player got injured. You are correct though that he did not continue to win 30 games.
Haith was not an ideal coach, MU should be able to do better. The most MU as a program has ever won in a 3 year period was 77 games, and in Haith's 3 seasons we won 76. I'm not sure that is the accurate place to pinpoint our decline.
