If we wanted to avoid the depths we've found ourselves in the past two years, we should have hired a flashier coach for a lot more money who could recruit at a high level right away. Even then, we'd be looking at a few losing seasons before we became a perennial tournament team again. Anything less than that and it was always going to be a tough 3-4 year rebuild. It didn't help that KA's entire first recruiting class was a total washout, either.
