Unless you're comparing Ross of today to the current roster.
Or at least Ross as a senior to last year's freshmen.
Ross is a career 39% shooter (41% in his best season). As a freshmen at Auburn he averaged 2.8 PPG.
As a sophomore at Auburn he scored 407 on 324 shots. 1.26 points/shot.
As a senior, Ross scored 491 points on 343 shots. 1.43 points/shot. 14.0 PPG.
Puryear as a freshman averaged 11.5 and scored 355 on 258 shots. 1.38 points/shot.
I think Puryear will beat Ross on that metric this coming season. Of course, maybe Haith just did't put Ross in a position to succeed, but that's a hard thing to define.
