margin and likely avg 22+ ppg for this team. But I get your point and mostly agree. Here is a post summarizing my view of the program at that point in time:

It was a frustrating season and they didn't reach their potential, even though they had no depth and it was sort of a transition year.
There won't be a connection by this group to the fans, we will be establishing new attendance lows that even top last year. MU has basically given up on men's basketball, and in general MU fans can no longer seriously or passionately follow it as a sport. There certainly will be no similarities between this season and the 2011-12 season.
I admire your optimism and think its admirable it hasn't been beaten out of you yet. I can't state how strongly I hope that there is something surprisingly enjoyable or encouraging about this season. I think if we can just stem the tide of outflowing talent, avg around 4000 in attendance, avoid off the court embarrassments, and generally at least put forth a decent level of effort and preparation that can be construed as a success. But the term 'success' is relative, I'm not willing to lower the benchmarks for what success normally constitutes for the MU program to absurd degrees just so this current state has an outside shot at reaching them. That would be the final blow in my opinion and fully kill off MU basketball long term if collectively MU fans do that.
