upperclassmen talent that was good enough to a) play winning basketball and (b) drive the undereclassmen to step up their games during practice and (c) lead by example and demonstrate what it means to be a quality D-I player and teammate.
With a dearth of high quality upperclassmen possessing those qualities, yes, the underclassmen have been put in a team structure which has been extremely challenging. Fortunately, several of last year's freshmen appear to be of the caliber to help meet the challenge. That's what most reasonable fans are hoping for.
