right now but my point is that with a shift to 4 confs of 16 the NCAA will cease to exist.
If the NCAA ceases then conferences keep all tourny money which is a lot (an extra 760 million in 2012).
See estimates below but it is not unreasonable that in my scenario a conference could add 10 MILLION PER TEAM by having strong basketball teams.
Not to mention but bb games can fill a lot of time on a conferences network and increase the value of those as well. I get that state populations account for Network money but those populations might be willing to pay 1.10 instead of a 1.00 if the network had both good FB and BB games to air. So even though ks has 2 million pop they might provide enough content when they go against OSU and MSU and Michigan and Purdue and Indy to get the entire conference pop to pay a little more.
Like it or not kU is a strong bb team and conferences can see there is untapped money in bb right now with the current system.
They are still a **** school.
