I ran over somebody's dog years ago

He ran right out in front and I couldn't stop in time . Still I picked him up and carried him up to their house . Seems like the least you can do, not easy but I don't think I could just keep driving no matter what I hit . Not sure I would want damages unless the car had major problems, would already feel guilty about killing someone's animal .
