No good MU team has ever been left out of the field since 1977 before the tournament really expanded (the 1972 and 1973 teams did get screwed). But since it’s been a 64 team field MU always makes it if they have a good season.

Making the tournament isn’t a benchmark for success. Not making the tournament means you have a subpar or bad season.
