Voters of California whether they realized it or not, chose equity over standard forestry practice compounded with prioritized environmentalism over water availability and modernized water infrastructure. These reduced fire department capabilities and Californians were warned multiple times that large forest fires might happen and as a result would be difficult to get under control as a result especially in the forest
/urban interface. Californians voted for equity anyway. All that virtue signaling is now lost in a sea of smoldering ash as Los Angeles continues to burn.
