He was in a tough situation and Carter was not a forceful man. However, he inherited some bad conditions that were do to congressional decisions during the Vietnam war. The Iranian hostage crises had nothing to do with him. You Kippur had nothing to do with him but he did arrange a agreement between Israel and Egypt that ****ed everyone off. He actually laid the groundwork and formed the real foundation for the fall of the Soviet Union. The bad thing included in that foundation led to the present war in Ukraine.
