And we're strictly talking about NFL bound players at that amount. So for those players, switching teams every year to chase money instead of staying in a program and developing to their full potential is not in their best interest. That is Drink's point.
For a player with no NFL potential, it's less of a problem in the long run. But they still may never reach their full potential if they switch all the time.
Luther Burden was smart enough to have the right attitude. He told Drink he trusted him to pay him what he was worth and that was that.
