not the big bucks. I have a friend with a daughter who plays softball, and she got NIL money. And she wasn't a pitcher and she wasn't so good that everyone wanted her.
Bottom line, they ALL get NIL money. But I agree, giving huge bucks to a 5-star could be a waste more often than not. It did work out with Luther, but not for Williams. I think the latter could be a total wash out. For OL and DL for sure, better to get proven talent. It is often hard to project how a kid will turn out at 21 when they are 18, since many of them have so much growing yet to do. High school kids who are more mature or who get on the roids may have peaked in the SR year of H.S. whereas others get loads better.
