As for your second question, the answer is close. And that's a very staunch Republican that posts all day, every day on a political message board while watching the news non-stop (not what I'd use as my "every day Republican or Democrat") and one of the more "moderate", if not THE most, justice to try and prove a point and instead you're making my point for me.
